As I travel around our district, it seems one issue dominates the minds of my constituents regardless of their age, gender, or political affiliation: school safety. I know I am not alone in my belief that it is more difficult to be a “kid” today than when I was growing up. Post-Session Newsletter: Medical Marijuana

In this week’s post-session newsletter, I want to take the opportunity to discuss one of the more significant pieces of legislation from the 2019 session: House Bill 324, the Georgia’s Hope Act. HB 324 allows for the production, manufacturing, and dispensing of low THC cannabis oil in Georgia. In 2015, the Georgia General Assembly and Governor Deal enacted House Bill 1, the Haleigh’s Hope Act, which provided for the first steps in allowing patients to legally possess low THC cannabis oil in our state.
